Program Structure and Weekly Schedule
Our junior high performance program follows a structured weekly schedule designed to support consistent development and competitive readiness. Training blocks are planned around school commitments, competition calendars, and recovery needs, ensuring athletes maintain balance alongside performance goals.
High-performance tennis coaching typically includes multiple on-court sessions per week, complemented by off-court components such as conditioning and match review. Weekly structure is adjusted as players progress, with flexibility to increase training volume during peak competition phases.
Players often transition into this environment from structured foundations built through Junior Development programs.
Coaching Team and Expertise
Elite tennis coaching is delivered by experienced coaches with backgrounds in junior development, competitive pathways, and performance environments. Coaching staff work collaboratively to ensure technical consistency and shared performance standards across sessions.
Athletes receive direct feedback and structured progression planning, with clear communication around expectations and benchmarks. Coaches monitor readiness for increased training load and competitive exposure, supporting long-term development rather than short-term results.
The program operates within our dedicated High Performance Coaching framework.
Training for Technical, Tactical, Mental, and Physical Skills
High-performance training addresses all key areas required for competitive tennis. Technical work focuses on stroke efficiency and repeatability, while tactical sessions develop point construction, decision-making, and adaptability under pressure.
Mental training supports concentration, match routines, and competitive resilience. Physical preparation includes movement efficiency, strength, speed, and injury risk management. UTR training principles are incorporated to align performance outcomes with measurable match results.
This integrated approach ensures players develop skills that transfer directly into competitive environments.
College Pathway and Travelling Team
For athletes targeting advanced competition or international opportunities, pathways may include exposure to travelling teams and tournament schedules. These experiences support toughness, adaptability, and ranking progression.
Participation in structured events allows athletes to test development outcomes against varied playing styles. Competitive exposure is supported through organised Competitions and additional training blocks delivered during selected Performance Camps.
College pathway guidance may be provided for athletes and families seeking clarity around future options.
How to Apply and What to Expect
Entry into the junior high performance program is based on assessment rather than automatic placement. Assessments review technical ability, movement, competitive mindset, and training readiness.
Following the assessment, families receive clear feedback outlining suitability, recommended training load, and next steps. Players may be invited to trial within the program before confirmation.
Initial entry points may include a structured Free Trial Assessment where appropriate.

More Information About High Performance Coaching
Who Qualifies
High Performance is an application-based program rather than an open enrolment class, which keeps training groups focused and genuinely elite in standard. Coaches assess technical ability, competitive results, work ethic, and coachability before confirming a place.
Most players entering the program have already spent meaningful time in Junior Development and are showing consistent results in local or regional competitions. That said, exceptional players who have trained elsewhere are welcome to apply and will be assessed on the same standards.
Parents should expect an honest conversation during the application process. If a player is not quite ready, coaches will explain exactly what to work on and when to reapply, rather than leaving families guessing.
Training Structure
Sessions combine technical drilling, tactical pattern work, physical conditioning, and match simulation, structured to reflect the demands of genuine competitive tennis rather than casual hitting. Squad sizes are kept small to ensure every player receives focused coaching attention.
Training blends group squad sessions with the option of additional private lessons for players wanting to accelerate work on specific technical or tactical areas. This layered approach lets coaches address individual weaknesses without disrupting the rhythm of squad training.
Fitness and injury prevention are built directly into the weekly structure, since players training at this intensity need a body that can handle the workload over a full competitive season, not just a single tournament.
UTR and Tournament Pathway
A core focus of the program is building each player’s competitive rating in a genuine, sustainable way, rather than chasing short-term results. Coaches track progress closely and adjust training and competition schedules based on real match data and performance trends.
Players are guided toward a suitable calendar of competitions, balancing local events with tougher matchups that genuinely test and grow ability. This measured approach helps avoid the common trap of overloading a young player’s schedule before they are ready.
For juniors and families with ambitions beyond domestic tennis, including college pathway goals, coaches provide honest guidance on what level of results and rating are typically needed, based on real experience supporting players through this exact process.
Travel Blocks and Match Reps
One of the features that sets our High Performance program apart is the travelling team, made up of players and coaches who attend selected events together throughout the season. This gives juniors regular exposure to stronger, unfamiliar opponents in a supported team environment.
Structured tournaments and retreats form a key part of this travel calendar, combining intensive training blocks with genuine competitive matches. These blocks are designed to accelerate development far faster than isolated, one-off tournament entries.
Travelling as part of a coached group also gives players valuable support around match preparation, recovery, and mindset, which are often just as important to results as the technical and physical side of the game.
